Your Questions, Answered!

I’m willing to bet you probably have a question about the car buying experience. Maybe it’s your first time, and you’ve been a little shy about asking. Or, maybe this is your first time buying from an independent dealership, like Ray’s Motor Sales. No matter if this is your first or fifth vehicle purchase, we want to make sure all your questions are answered! Below is a list of questions we get asked most often. Read along and see if any are helpful to you!

The shortest answer is that buy here pay here means that we are the bank. Instead of going through a bank, credit union, or other outside financing company, we finance your vehicle right here at the dealership. This allows us greater flexibility in accommodating your financial history. We are able to finance customers who may not be able to get financing from those banks, credit unions, etc. This doesn’t mean the quality of vehicle we offer declines; quite the contrary! We offer vehicles as recent as two-three years old.

We offer a little bit of everything. Sedans, SUV’s, Trucks, Vans…we carry them all. You’ll find a mix of domestic (like Chevrolet, Ford, Pontiac, GMC, Mercury) and imports (Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai, Honda). The miles on our vehicles range anywhere from 30k up to about 85k (sometimes a little higher on full sized trucks), with the average around 65k-70k miles. You bet! And this is a benefit that differentiates Ray’s Motor Sales from other dealers. We offer a 3 Month/3,000 Mile Limited Warranty on every car we sell. Unlike other dealerships, this isn’t a vehicle that you have to pay for in addition to the cost of the vehicle. It is included with the vehicle. There are some documents we need for you to bring with you to the dealership to help you obtain financing. It’s pretty standard stuff. Here’s a quick rundown:

  1. Proof of Income – We need your two most recent paystubs. If you’re self employed, we need your most previous year’s W2.
  2. Employment Verification – We need a way to verify your employment. You can provide a phone number to your HR department, of if your paystubs contain your hire date, that may suffice as well.
  3. Proof of Residency – We need documentation of your address, and this can come in many forms. It can be a copy of your lease/mortgage, a water or utility bill, cell phone bill, bank statement, etc.
